Pick the camera you’re holding for a quick how‑to.
Important: Our venue is quite dark — please use flash for these cameras whenever you’re indoors or the light feels low, otherwise the photos may not be visible.
Canon AF35J — quick how‑to
Point, half‑press, full press Look through the viewfinder, keep fingers away from the lens and flash. Half‑press the shutter to focus, then press all the way down to take the photo. The film winds itself.
Slide the flash out In dim light or indoors, slide the built‑in flash unit out until it clicks. Then point and shoot — don’t cover the flash window.
If it beeps or won’t shoot That’s usually a “too dark” or “end of roll” warning. Don’t open the back or force anything.
If it feels stuck, tired or confusing, please hand it to one of the photographers — we’ll reload the film and get it ready again.
Advance first Turn the little wheel until it stops before every photo.
Turn flash on if it’s dim Rotate the silver ring around the lens until the flash symbol lines up for indoors / evening. Turn it back for bright daylight to save battery.
Compose and click Look through the viewfinder, hold steady with both hands and press the shutter once. Wind the wheel again for the next shot.
Half‑frame magic This camera makes two photos per frame — a 36‑shot roll gives you 72 photos, so go wild.
If the wheel won’t turn or the shutter won’t press, don’t open the back. Please pass the camera to one of the photographers so we can reload and fix it.
